[Australia] Tigerair, Brisbane to Darwin flight experience - carry-on baggage

Key point: Tigerair might weigh your carry-on baggage/luggage just before boarding.

Last Easter holiday, we were about to board from Brisbane Airport back to Darwin. We heard the announcement regarding all passengers having to weigh their luggage before boarding. We thought they might just weigh the people who were waiting near the gate. In the end, they checked every passenger. Luckily, we didn’t bring lots of stuff with us. The girl in front of us had to pay for checked luggage in the end.

I’ve never encountered such a situation in Australia. This was my first-time experiencing luggage checks right before the gate. Although it is pretty common with Ryanair... Basically, they check you... every time...

Additional information: It took me a while to find the water fountain/water station in the Brisbane domestic airport. I found one near the Qantas waiting area. There was no information on the airport website or any online platforms. I guess they might have one near the Virgin airline area. There were no fountains in the budget airline waiting area, so if you need a fountain, now you know where you can find one.
